Life Skills Education

Our Life Skills Specialist supplements the living-in-America orientation and, with qualified volunteers, helps our refugee families develop the skills they need to live day-to-day, things many of us take for granted:

  • Use of public transportation including bus, light rail, taxi service and carpooling
  • Shopping
  • Home maintenance
  • Finance and budgeting
  • Tax preparation
  • American banking system
  • American education system
  • American health care system
