Charity receives grant from Governor’s Office of Energy Policy to install solar panels and uses energy costs savings to further its mission PHOENIX (Aug. 9, 2011) — Catholic Charities Community Services received a $50,000 grant from the Governor's Office of Energy Policy to install solar equipment at its corporate offices. The energy cost savings from the new system will further fund the agency’s mission of helping the community’s most vulnerable. “We are extremely grateful to the Governor’s Office of Energy Policy for making sustainable solutions possible for our clients and our community,” said Catholic Charities President and CEO, Bob Brown. “This system reduces our carbon footprint by 488 tons per year and our energy usage by 12 percent.
